AT Sustainability Education
Cosette M. Armstrong completed her master’s practicum in the GPIDEA Merchandising program on the integration of Education for Sustainable Development in apparel and textiles education. Cosette completed a content analysis of one apparel and textile program at a large southeastern university in conjunction with a student survey measuring knowledge, attitudes, and interest about sustainability. She presented the findings of the content analysis at the 2009 K-state Research Forum placing first in the Social Sciences category.
She will present the survey findings in a poster session at the 2009 International Textile and Apparel Association’s annual conference in Seattle, WA.
Cosette will also present findings from a case study about education for sustainable development titled Transformational Integration of Sustainability into an Apparel Manufacturing Course at the 2009 Greening of the Campus VIII conference in Indianapolis, IN which is sponsored by the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education and Ball State University.
